CMS diploma is known as diploma in community Medical Service & essential drugs (CMS & ED). It is a diploma for primary Health Care by general allopathic medicines which are recommended by world health organization (WHO) for primary health care. The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has given an order that CMS Diploma holder can give treatment in all diseases including infection diseases.
Eligibility :
10th or Higher, Rural Doctors RMP, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, BEMS, BNYS, BPT, DPT, B.Pharma, D. Pharma,DNYS, Degree/ Diploma in Alternative Medicines, Paramedical, Nursing, Naturopathy, Dental etc.
Medium of Instruction : English / Bengali
Syllabus : Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Preventive & Social Medicine (PSM), Practice of Medicine, Health & Hygiene, medical Jurisprudence.
Study Material : Lessons covering different subjects such as Anatomy Physiology, Pathology, Practice of Medicine, Health and hygiene etc. will be sent you by the council through post.
Examination : 4 Examination after each Unit

The complete application form along with Self attested xerox copy of Degree / Diploma/Experience Certificate, Address proof, Aadhaar Card, four passport size photographs, and total fees.
Benefit of course:
After completion of CMS diploma course anybody can start his/her medical practice in rural area and can use allopathic medicines recommended by world health organization (WHO) for primary health care, as per the judgment of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India dated on 19th Feb. 2003.
18 माह की ट्रेनिंग करने के पश्चात शिक्षार्थी ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन द्वारा निर्धारित 42 ऐलोपैथिक मेडिसिन का प्रयोग करते हुये स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं कर सकता है। पूरे देश में ये प्रोगाम विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन की नीति के अनुसार आई.आर.एम.ए. के द्वारा सन् 1979 ये चलाया जा रहा है, जिसको भारत सरकार की सहमति प्राप्त है। वर्तमान में देश में लगभग 550 अध्ययन केन्द्र कार्यरत है।
Candidates may also be engaged as a trained health worker as per the order of government of West Bengal (Memo no- HPH/7T-01-04-2012/540) in all district of west Bengal.
